🔭 Two ways to experience your consulting

Before the session, you can tell us what you need using a short form and choose between our two options:

Option 1: 🌌 EXPLORER MODE

Go outside. Look up. We'll be with you.

If you have a clear view of the sky, we can explore it together.

You don't need to be under a completely dark sky or have a telescope.

You can be in your garden, on a terrace, in a rural retreat, a hotel, on a beach, in the countryside, or anywhere you can observe a portion of the sky.

During the video call, you'll tell us what you can see, where you're looking, and where you are. From there, we'll guide you to help you recognize and understand the sky visible from your location.

We can search for stars, constellations, planets, or other objects visible during the session and explain what you're observing.

And if you have binoculars or a telescope, we can also guide you in using them.

It doesn't matter if you can only see a few stars.

Sometimes, a few stars are enough to begin exploring the Universe.

Ideal for:

People who want to do a short guided astronomical observation from anywhere in the world.

People who were unable to attend an in-person event.

Travelers staying in a hotel, rural accommodation, or any other location with clear skies.

People whose in-person astronomy event had to be canceled due to weather conditions and who want to continue exploring astronomy from another location or at another time.

Families, couples, or individuals who simply want to take advantage of a clear night to better understand what's above them.

People who are new to using binoculars or telescopes and would like our guidance while they observe.

Option 2: 🔭 CONSULTING MODE

45 minutes to talk about astronomy with you.

This option doesn't require you to be looking at the sky during the video call.

It's a private space to meet with the StArt La Palma team and ask us your questions, discuss your projects, doubts, or concerns related to astronomical observation.

It can be a one-off session, or you can book new sessions as you progress in your learning.

We can help you, for example, if:

You've done an astronomical observation activity and still have questions or want to delve deeper.

You're learning astronomy on your own and need guidance.

You have a new telescope and want to learn how to better understand its operation and capabilities.

You're thinking about buying your first telescope, binoculars, or other observation equipment and need guidance before making a decision.

You want to give a telescope or some other astronomy-related item as a gift and don't know which option might be suitable.

You want to start observing from home and need to know where to begin.

You have questions about astronomical objects, constellations, celestial orientation, or basic observation techniques. Do you want to gradually improve your experience as an observer and have someone to regularly ask your questions?

Or do you simply want to enjoy 45 minutes of personalized conversation about astronomy with our team?

🕒 How does it work?

The consultation lasts 45 minutes and is conducted via video call, by prior arrangement.

To properly prepare for each session, we recommend booking at least 7 days in advance.

Once you have booked, we will send you a pre-consultation form. In it, you can tell us:

• Which format you prefer: Explorer Mode or Consultation Mode.

• Your location in the world for the session.

• What you would like to observe, learn, or ask about.

• Whether you have a telescope, binoculars, or other equipment.

• Your prior experience with astronomy.

• Any questions or information you consider important for preparing our meeting. This way, when it's time to connect, our team will already know your interests, and we can make the most of the 45 minutes.

💫 Your session, your questions, your sky

Every consultation is different because everyone comes with a unique question.

You might be learning to use your first telescope.

You might want to buy one.

You might have recently participated in an observation and now have twenty new questions.

You might want to give a special gift to someone who loves astronomy.

You might be traveling and have discovered a spectacular sky from your accommodation.

Or you might have simply gone outside, looked up, and thought,

"What am I seeing?"

That's what we're here for.

For 45 minutes, you'll have a private space with us to ask questions, explore, learn, and share your passion for astronomy.

🌍 You don't need to be in La Palma

StArt La Palma was born and develops its in-person experiences from the island of La Palma, but the sky doesn't end there.

This option allows us to accompany you from anywhere in the world.

If you choose Explorer Mode, we'll prepare the session taking into account your location and the time of the video call to give you an idea of ​​the sky you'll have access to.

If you choose Consultation Mode, you can connect from anywhere. You only need an internet connection and whatever you'd like to discuss with us.

☁️ What if I couldn't make an in-person observation?

You can also use this service.

If for any reason you were unable to attend one of our activities, had to change your plans, or an observation session couldn't take place due to weather conditions, you can book an online session to continue your exploration of astronomy.

If later, during your stay, you find a moment with clear skies visible from your accommodation or another suitable and safe location, Explorer Mode can be a different way to continue discovering the sky with us.

Online consultations are a separate service from our in-person activities and are subject to availability and prior booking.
